D. Wade Henderson, O.D.

Dr. Henderson graduated with highest honors, Summa Cum Laude from Northeastern State University in 1996. He is the former Clinic Director of Optometric Services for the Kansas Eye Center in Wichita, Kansas.

Dr. Henderson also served as Associate Clinical Professor for Northeastern State University. He worked as adjunct faculty for the university training other doctors in: Surgical Procedures for the Optometric Physician, Anterior Segment Laser Procedures, Excimer Laser Eye Surgery and Ocular Pathology Grand Rounds.

As Clinical Director of the Refractive Surgery and LASIK Program, Dr. Henderson assisted in the development of the Midwest Ambulatory Surgical Center, one of the largest ophthalmologic surgical centers in the region.

Dr. Henderson has been in practice in Springfield, IL since 1999. His practice includes primary and family eye care, management of glaucoma and ocular disease, pediatric and geriatric eye care, surgical and laser comanagement, and specialty contact lens fitting. In May of 2005, Drs. Henderson and Posegate relocated their office to west Springfield at the Henderson & Posegate Eye Center.

Honors received by Dr. Henderson include the Triad Ocular Pathology Award, the Award for Clinical Excellence in Ocular Pathology, and the Heart of America Contact Lens Society Award. He is an active member of the American Optometric Association, the Illinois Optometric Association, the Oklahoma Optometric Association, the Kansas Optometric Association, the Midwest Optometric Society, the AOA Contact Lens Section, Beta Sigma Kappa, International Optometric Honor Fraternity, Volunteer Optometric Services for Humanity, and the Fellowship of Christian Optometrists.
